“Seven Snipers” (*1/2 out of four) was a leaden action melodrama that fires all blanks about a retired sniper (Radha Mitchell) in hiding on an Australian ranch who has to come out of retirement and reunite her killer elite squad (Ioan Gruffudd, Ryan Kwanten, and others) when a warlord (Tim Roth) threatens her life and abducts her daughter. Australian scenery is a highlight throughout but don’t do much to enliven the meandering and molasses proceedings. Roth is sorely wasted in his umpteenth role as a villain; if his career trajectory continues like this, he really might have no choice but to hold up coffee shops.
