“Spaghetti” (*1/2 out of four) was a stale platter of moldy urban-melodrama cliches about a hard-working nurse (Brittany Lucio) who thinks she has met the perfect man (Newton Mayenge); once she finds out he is cheating on her, she poisons his spaghetti which unfurls a whole series of dark and demented consequences. Misplaced attempts at dark irony combined with clumsy filmmaking and dramatics turn this into an unappetizing clunker. Mayenge’s strong performance is one of film’s few virtues.
