“The Caretaker” (*1/2 out of four) was a lackluster action melodrama about the caretaker (Charles Bronson lookalike Robert Bronzi) of an abandoned ghost town who teams up with his former partner in crime (Quinton “Rampage” Jackson) to safeguard a young woman (Avaryana Rose) from a ruthless crime boss (Daniel Baldwin). Director Fady Jeanbart seems to be attempting to emulate the spaghetti Western stylings of Sam Peckinpah, Clint Eastwood, and Walter Hill but result is sluggish and wooden. Too serious and self-important for action fans and too garish and silly for anyone else.
